Failure rarely confronts us.
It is most often a ship long sailed,
Rarely, a Northwest Passage
We didn't know existed,
Usually, one we believed in
That didn't exist.
Failure is age and death and, thus,
We are all in time.
To succeed in life one may only play
With an intensity
That diverts our awareness
That the house has the odds.
To succeed in death one must
Keep an open mind.
